Life...

Today I have decided to suggest again the main parts of Steve Job's most famous speech at Stanford, and not because today is his birthday, but because today those words appeared to me as soon as I have logged in...and they seemed so strong or maybe what I need at that moment.
So here you are.

Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. [...]

"If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. [...]

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Everything happens for a reason

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.
And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason.

Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck.

Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of your soul.Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create whom you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, for you may never experience it again.

Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create you own life and then go out and live it.

Tenderness

Being Tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually Shhh'ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy. Blah, blah. Don't let someone steal your tenderness. Don't allow the coldness and the fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart.
Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things. Wheter it's a song. A stranger, a mountain, a rain drop, a tea kettle, an article, a sentence, a footstep, feel it all - Look around you. All of this is for you. Take it and have gratitude. Give it and feel love.

Love songs

La nostra canzone

o meglio la nostra canzone dell'ultimo anno... per ricordarci che ci siamo ancora!

E la vostra canzone d'amore qual è?

*******

Our Song

or better sayin' our song from the last year.... just to remind us that we're still here!

And What's your love song?

Just give me a reason, just a little bit's enough, just a second we're not broken just bent....

and we can learn to love again

It's in the stars, it's been written in the scars of our hearts, we're not broken just bent and we can learn to love again

Share the Warmth - Suspended Coffee

******************************

Starbucks' campaign (Share the Warmth) reminded me a wonderful Neapolitan tradition, I'm not sure it is still working....but probably in the ancient cafè it is still alive.

It is the "suspended coffee". The most of you probably do not know it.
The "suspended coffee" is a tradition that I really do not know what kind of origins it has, but sure I would say it is linked to the Neapolitan heart!

There also is a book on it by Mr Luciano De Crescenzo, written in 2008, for whom of you want some more info.

The tradition is:  you go to a cafè and order your coffee and another coffee, called "suspended coffee"... that you pay for but you do not take.
The suspended coffee is for someone who cannot afford it, for example, homeless people. And at the end of the day if a homeless comes to that cafè saying "any suspended coffee?" The barman will serve it to him... it's a kind of charity we have.

Starbucks' campaign it's nice... but... has anyone the same heart as Neapolitan people?

F***ing Life!

And now, then?

Everything I do, I think about you!

When I put my make up on, my nail polish, or high heels, or some dress.... everything reminds me of you.

When I smile in front of the mirror to pretend everything's ok, I think about you and your smile...

When I see my green eyes, I think about yours..........

When I think about planning some trip, I think about you... you would have visited all the places in the world, you should have done! You deserved it!

I miss you!

You should have been living.............

Goodbye cugi...

Nothing now can ever come to any good..........

For all those are wondering why I wrote it only in English.. well, I do not want everybody understands.
